I am your Child and Teen Counselor…Mary Miner

If you see your kid is struggling and you’re not sure how to support them, I can help.  I love to equip children and parents with skills to improve their relationships and overcome new challenges.

Before coming to Tender Hearts Counseling, I worked for over 5 years in an outpatient mental health clinic helping many people find ways to live more fully.   I have always enjoyed working with young people the most and I’m thrilled to join the Tender Hearts team to work with you to help your child or teen.

My education and licensing includes…

….a master’s degree in pastoral and clinical mental health counseling from Loyola University Maryland.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor

I love getting to know people who are very different from me and traveling to far away places.  I’ve lived in countries on 3 continents outside North America and in addition traveled to many other countries.

I’ve worked with children for many years as a teacher, babysitter, nanny, in camps, and church activities

When I’m not counseling children, I enjoy gardening, walking, running, dancing, cooking, reading, traveling, and playing board games with my many nephews and nieces.

Do you work with all ages?

I work with children and teens, ages 4-18.

What sort of challenges can you help me with?

Common challenges I see include issues related to anxiety, emotional regulation, ADHD, autism, problems at school, relationships, self-esteem, big feelings, and major life changes.
