About Michael McCoy, LCPC, CCTP

Img 4101As an Adult and Teen Counselor, I am ready to help you.

If life feels overwhelming like you’re struggling to keep your head above water, you’re in the right place. I help put individuals back in the driver’s seat by working with them to create better ways of coping with life’s challenges.

I’ve dedicated more than 20 years of my life to help teenagers and adults with their mental health – working as a therapist in after-school programs, residential treatment facilities, hospitals, and psychological testing practices.

My background formed a deep understanding of how complex mental health can be and the ability it has to control your life.

My experience includes…

… a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.

… a second Master’s in Clinical Psychology while pursuing a Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology) from The American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy, Washington, DC.

I’m a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).

You’ll vibe with me if you appreciate a supportive environment that allows you to make discoveries and achieve insights about yourself, rather than just having an ear to vent to.

The important stuff about me…

I like to keep the therapeutic experience refreshing by sprinkling in some humor and experiential learning here and there.

When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy watching movies, traveling, and hitting the nearest sporting event like: DC United Games, arena football, or NBA basketball games.

I live an active lifestyle and am often spotted at the gym doing a workout!
